Catherine's Newborn Pictures

A friend of mine, Ashley Grimmer has started her own photography business. It is Ashley Grimmer Photography. She took family pictures for us back in November and they were fabulous. I knew I wanted her to do newborn pictures once we had the baby and they turned out even better than I imagined!!!!

Introducing Catherine Grace Cole

Catherine's Birth Story:

My contractions started about 5 pm on Friday, January 13, 2012. Matt and I took the kids out to our favorite Mexican Food restaurant. While we were at dinner I would have a few contractions that were 5 minutes apart and then they would be 20 minutes apart. We went home and put the kids to bed. The contractions continued sporadically throughout the night, but never close enough to go in to the hospital. The next morning Jacob had a basketball game. While we were there the contractions were closer together and really started to hurt. After the game about 10:30, we went to Einstein's Bagel with Matt's parents, OD and DD. The contractions were coming every 4 minutes and then they went back to 10 or 15 minutes apart. OD and DD took Jacob, Hannah, and Elizabeth to their house so Matt and I could go home and decide if we should go to the hospital or not. I called my doctor and she told me to go ahead and come in since it was baby #4. I was 3 cm dilated at my appointment on Thursday. When I got to the hospital I was 5 1/2 cm dilated. They told me I would definitely have a baby today. My contractions were really far apart for a while, but did start to get stronger after my doctor broke my water. I quickly progressed to a 7, but then stalled out for about 2 hours. Since I was having a VBAC, they could only give me a small dose of pitocin which quickly progressed me to 10! Nana made it in from Rockwall, and Aunt Kim was there too. Matt and I had a great afternoon watching Baylor basketball and the 49ers and Saints playoff game. When it was time to start pushing, the Saints had just pulled ahead and my doctor was so excited! She is a Saints fan! I started pushing at 7:05pm and she was born at 7:09pm. Unfortunately for my doctor, the 49ers won the game in that time! The cord was wrapped around her neck, so she was a little stunned, but did start crying and has a very healthy set of lungs!! We are so blessed to have another healthy baby! We thank God for Catherine!

The Girls First Day of Preschool!

Today was the first day of "school" for the girls. Hannah is so excited to be in the dinosaur class like her big brother was last year. Elizabeth is in the ladybug class this year. Hannah was so excited to go. Elizabeth kept telling me she wasn't going and then she asked me if she could take my Sonic drink to her ladybug class! Really?! My two girls posed for some sweet pictures for me this morning!

Oh Elizabeth looks so sweet in this picture,
but she really is a handful these days!

Jacob's First Day of Kindergarten

My baby boy started Kindergarten yesterday! Where did the time go? Didn't I just bring him home from the hospital? Jacob had a hard time sleeping the night before his big day. He took FOREVER to fall asleep and then he woke up at 2am and couldn't go back to sleep until 5am! So waking him up at 6:45 was not fun for anyone in our house. Once he was up and had breakfast he was all smiles and ready to go! Mommy was a little teary eyed over the weekend, but managed to make it through yesterday morning just fine! He had a great day and really loved his class and teacher! We are looking forward to a great day! I am really going to try to keep up with the blog this year! Check back for a BRIEF update from our summer adventures. Also stay tuned for February 2011 when Baby Cole #4 is due!!!!

Several posts ahead!

Jacob's first soccer game was on October 9th! He had so much fun playing with his new teammates. This past weekend the 23rd he scored a goal and was so proud of himself he tried to run off the field to mommy and daddy. As we congratulated him we had to tell him to stay on the field and keep playing!
