Jump Jump

My mother-in-law and I took Jacob and Hannah to the Galleria this afternoon to see the ice skating rink with the Christmas tree and all the decorations. We ventured into a few stores and then had McDonald's for dinner. The kids saw the trampolines you could jump on. Jacob said, "I will do that when I get bigger mommy." Hannah said, "I am already big." She was determined. She sent first and laughed the whole time. Big brother decided to give it a try, but after one jump decided his sister could have his turn too. Hannah was jumping at least two levels high at one point. She had a blast. Enjoy the pictures and video!

Let it snow Let it snow Let is snow!

What a fun day! Snow in Houston, Daddy got to come home around lunch time, and we went out to play in the snow. Here are some pictures from our day in the snow! It really feels like the holiday season now! We have made cookies, had hot chocolate, and The Polar Express will be on the tv for the afternoon! Here are my little darlings. Elizabeth liked her first snow experience. She kept trying to crawl off the blanket!

Thankful for blessings, saddened by loss

I just found out today that the executive director of Homes 4 Good (where I worked for 3 1/2 years) passed away on Monday after a long battle with cancer. She and her husband were amazing to me. They started Homes 4 Good to help find forever home for children. Charlotte and Rick hired me when I was 6 months pregnant with Jacob and treated me like family. Who hires someone when they are 6 months pregnant? I was able to work from home and be at home with my kids. I was given 3 months paid maternity leave when I had Hannah. Rick and Charlotte made it possible for me to be at home with my kids and work at a job I was extremely passionate about at the same time. I will forever by grateful to them and all those I worked with at Homes 4 Good for those 3 1/2 years. I am also thankful for the support they offered when I decided I should quit to be at home 100 % when I had Elizabeth. Please pray for the Charlotte's husband, Rick, and her son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren, as well as her parents and sister. I am thankful that she is no longer in pain and that she is in Heaven face to face with our Lord and Savior.

For Nana

Okay, I know I stink at updating my blog. I actually have a lot to update on from this last month, but just for now, this post is for Nana. She being a grandmother who lives out of town asks me all the time to put pictures of the kids up on the blog so she can see them. I fail at this most of the time, so Nana, this picture was taken just for you and the kids knew why we were taking it! They smile at the same time, can you believe it? We love you Nana and hope you like our picture. More updates later!

Please Pray

Please pray for my sweet friends, (Lindsay and James) and (Melissa and Greg). The last two weeks they have each been at Texas Children's Hospital with their precious babies. Melissa and Greg's baby Luke has a rare skin disease EB (check their blog for more info) and Lindsay and James's baby James Thomas has a rare blood disorder more than likely and has had several transfusions and will be have bone marrow drawn in the morning for further testing. I love these two couples and these two babies like family and I am asking for God's comfort and ultimate healing for these precious baby boys, but in the meantime praying that their treatment will keep them as comfortable and healthy as possible. I am also praying for their mommies and daddies to have the strength to give and give to them each day! Thanks to all who are praying for these precious baby boys.

Today's Soccer Game

I do not have any pictures from today, because my camera died as soon as we got there...I forgot to charge the battery pack! Jacob did awesome today. He ran all over the field and kicked the ball and almost scored twice! He has so much fun and was quite proud of himself. Hannah and Elizabeth cheered on their big brother. We celebrated the game with lunch at Prince's Hamburgers and a cherry milkshake

6 months old already

Our sweet baby girl is 6 months old today. I cannot believe it. I feel like she has been a part of our family forever, but I still feel like she should still be a little baby. She loves to sit up and watch her brother and sister play and run around her. She is not a big fan of being on her tummy or rolling over. I guess she feels like she misses out on too much action! She is so laid back and such a joy. Jacob and Hannah make her laugh constantly. As you can see by the pictures, she loves her carrots! We love you Elizabeth Ann and Happy 6 month birthday.

I'm officially a soccer mom!

Well today was our first soccer game! Jacob was excited to put on his purple uniform this morning. He was a little shy during warm-up...well actually during the whole game. Most of the time he just stood in the middle of the field! Oh well, we are just learning right! Hopefully in a few more weeks, he will participate in the games more! He did look cute out there!

My baby is 4!

I know I am a week late on this post, but we have had a busy week and I have had a hard time dealing with the fact that my baby boy is 4!! Where have the last 4 years gone? When we were talking about Jacob's party, he told me he wanted a Lego party ! So we had a lego cake, lego waffles, lego candy, lego ice, and plenty of legos to play with! Jacob had a great birthday weekend. He told his teachers at Mother's Day Out on Tuesday that he had a wonderful time on his birthday. I feel so blessed and privileged to by Jacob's mommy (and Hannah and Elizabeth's). I was looking back at pictures from the last four years and how my little man has changed. He is a truly amazing little boy. I just want to bottle him up and keep him little. I plan on cherishing these last two years before he starts Kindergarten!

New Pictures

I just wanted to share a new favorite picture of my three darling children. Sweet Elizabeth's smile is contagious. She is so laid back and just a wonderful baby. I can't believe she is already 5 1/2 months old. Miss Hannah Grace is as prissy as can be (as if you can't tell that from the picture)! Her new phrase "Oh, wait mom, I forgot my purse!" I love the picture of Jacob sleeping! He rarely takes a nap anymore, but he was so tired on Sunday afternoon, he fell asleep. I am pretty sure that my parents have a picture of me sleeping on the floor like that! When I watch him sleep he is so sweet and innocent and still looks so little to me! I can't believe he is going to be 4 this Saturday! Where have the last 4 years gone. I am not ready for my little man to be 4!

Playtime with the Graessers

Our sweet friends, the Graesser children came over to play yesterday while their mommy and daddy had to go somewhere.  They all played so well together.  Strangely, it seemed easier having six kids in the house than my three! Of course that would be because they all had a playmate, so my job was fairly easy!  Here are some pictures of our afternoon.  There was plenty of dress up by the girls and Jacob put on his policeman costume.  The babies sat on the floor and looked at each other a lot! We are so thankful to have such good friends.

Everyone was happy with PB&J for dinner

Elizabeth and Benjamin wished I would feed them instead of taking pictures!

All six children looking in the same direction...amazing!

Elizabeth was so happy to have someone on her level to look at!

FIrst Day of School 2009

I know it has been 2 months since my last post.  Sorry to those of you who still actually check my blog.  I spent my summer taking care of my 3 wonderful children and just didn't have the time or energy to keep up with the blog.  Here are pictures of Jacob and Hannah before school. Hannah picked out her own dress and requested pigtails for the first day.  Jacob just put the clothes on I handed him, but I thought he looked pretty stylish! And last, but not least, here is a picture of Elizabeth who is 5 months old now, sitting up and so happy! She appears to by happy to have some one on one mommy time! The last picture is of Jacob and Hannah being silly before church two weeks ago. I just love their laughs and smiles!

Summer Fun!

We have spent a lot of afternoons outside in the pool, on the slip-n-slide, and today we decided to play with shaving cream on the picnic table! Jacob and Hannah ran back and forth between the shaving cream and the pool. The water looked a little dirty from the combination, but they had so much fun. Poor Elizabeth gets to endure the heat from her bouncy seat under the shade or in mommy's arm. She got a little tired of it, so she played on her play mat while I stood at the door to keep an eye on her and to watch my water monkeys outside. Ms. Elizabeth really enjoys her activity mat. She loves smiling at her bird!

This is so much better than outside mommy!

What is the bird looking at?

Oh, he is looking at me!

Who knew a $1.20 can of shaving cream could be so much fun?

I had to keep telling Hannah it wasn't whipped cream so she wouldn't eat it!

Look at me mommy, this is so fun!

Jacob put shaving cream in his hair to have a spiked look today!

We have to drink lots of water to beat the heat!
