A New Year!

Well I am sure that you all thought I would never update our blog. It is a new year, so I can try to do a better job. Our last two months have been very busy. I finished up working for Homes4Good and as of today I am officially unemployed! YEAH! I have been so blessed to work from home the last 3 1/2 years. It has been great to be at home with my kids the majority of the time and be able to bring some extra money home for our family, but with BABY #3 due at the beginning of April, Matt and I decided that it would be better for everyone (especially my sanity), if I quit and stayed home 100% of the time with all of our children! Some of you may be shocked to read that! If you didn't know I was pregnant, sorry! We are so excited about the arrival of our little girl (who does not have a name yet). Jacob really understands that there is a baby in mommy's tummy and that he is going to have another little sister. He wants to name her Hannah too, but we explained that it would be too confusing to have two Hannah's! Hannah looks at the ultrasound picture and says "baby sista", but I am sure she will be shocked when we bring home another baby. She is quite the momma's girl, but I am sure she will be a great big sister.

We were very blessed during the Christmas holidays to spend time with both of our families. We had a great time with everyone and I will share plenty of pictures. After Christmas I started having some severe lower back pain and some contractions and I was only 26 weeks pregnant. After two trips to the hospital and ruling out pre-term labor (thank goodness), I was diagnosed with Kidney Stones! Happy New Year to Julie! So now just about 3 months before I give birth to our 3rd child, I get to possibly go through worse pain than childbirth! That's exciting. So we are taking it day by day. I am uncomfortable now, but not in terrible pain yet. I pray that they will pass before other measures have to be taken! Matt is doing good and work is going well for him. We have enjoyed having him home with us for some good family time over the holidays. Well, I guess that is all the update I have, so here are the much anticipated pictures....the reason why any of you check the blog anyway! Stay tuned for the next post of pictures with the Cole family for Christmas. I didn't want to put too many pictures in one blog.

Halloween Costumes Take One

Today Jacob and Hannah had Halloween parties at school and got to trick or treat. They got to wear their costumes and everything! This is how our morning went: Hannah sees me with her tu tu and she says, "put tu tu on mommy!" She was so excited about playing dress up (she is so prissy). But, when picture time came around, I said, "Say cheese Hannah." She responds with "No cheese mommy" and tries to run away from the camera. When I told Jacob to put his costume on, he threw a major fit! "I don't want to be Thomas mommy." I was thinking, "Great, I am glad we spent $30 on this costume." Then I asked him if he wanted to be an elephant, so he tried on the trunk and ears that my mom sent me from when I was a kid. He thought it was cool for a minute until I ruined it by trying to put his gray sweat pants on him. He didn't want to wear the pants, so he didn't want to be an elephant. So then he says, "I don't want to dress up." Mommy's come back, "All the other kids are going to be dressed up Jacob." Great, so I am teaching my child to give in to peer pressure and go along with the crowd...Mom of the year award right here. To rationalize my comment, I really did not want him to get to school and see everyone else dressed up and be mad that he didn't have a costume. Finally, he decided he wanted to be Thomas. Thank goodness! Here are a few pictures of Thomas the Train and my little ballerina. When I picked the kids up from school they had both had great days. I picked Hannah up first and she said, "Hi mommy...go get Jacob!" She loves her brother. We had a play date with Jacob's friend Reagan after school today and the kids had a blast and ran off all that extra sugar they had at school! Mommy's night ended by helping Ms. Lindsay celebrate her 28th birthday! We had a great girls dinner! Thanks for having a birthday Lindsay. Stay tune later in the weekend for pictures from Halloween and Baylor Homecoming! My sister and mom are probably passing out right now that I have two posts in one day!

Mommy's Favorite Pictures Lately

We have had a fun past week and a half. Some of our activities have been making one more trip to the pumpkin patch, going to the zoo, and spending some time with daddy when he took off work. Enjoy!

These two are so sweet to each other 95% of the time.
I didn't tell them to hug, they just did!

Memories

Here is our sweet 3 year old boy when he was only 3 months old. I can't believe how fast they grow up!

Jacob's Birthday (a little late)

So Jacob's birthday was obviously in September, but due to Hurricane Ike we had to delay his party. We had it on October 11th and of course I am just now posting the birthday pictures. What else would you expect? I have come to realize that I am just not that good at updating the blog regularly. Jacob had a great time at his birthday party. We rented a moon walk and he had a blast. We can't believe that our precious little boy is 3!

Our Week

It has been a busy week being back home! I was so glad to be able to clean my house! The kids have been quite happy sleeping in their beds and so have mommy and daddy. Our week included going to school, taking our friends Hannah and Ellie to the zoo (with DD's help), and attempting to take cousin pictures at the pumpkin patch while Daddy and Uncle Jeff fixed our fence. Enjoy the pictures.
