Catching Up Again!

I have definitely been lacking in keeping our blog updated, which my sister reminds me of often. Things are getting back to normal around our house finally. We did not have a great January or beginning of February due to the FLU! I had never had it and I hope to never have it again. The only good thing I got out of it was losing a few pounds. The kids are much better and we have been enjoying playing outside since the weather has been beautiful. I will post some outside pictures this week. I am posting a few pictures of our pigtail girl:) Yes, I am having fun fixing a my precious little girl's hair. I am also putting a few pictures of Jacob before his Valentine's Day party at Mother's Day Out. He is quite the stud!

Yeah for pigtails, bows, and one shoe!

Hi Mommy, I'm waving!

Ready for Valentine's Day!

Come on Mom, please stop taking my picture!

Videos of the kids

I thought I would share some videos of the kids!

Well, I have a lot to write today. The last week and a half, we have been stuck at home because both kids have been sick. Hannah first and a few days ago, Jacob got sick. We went to the doctor today after he was not getting better and he has an ear infection. This is his first one ever! We are lucky that we have made it 2 years and 4 months without one! Granny came to visit us this week and was a great help to mom to catch up around the house. My ironing basket is now empty and dad has shirts to wear to work! Also all of my Christmas decorations are finally put away (yes I know that is sad)! All my laundry is done and all my beds have clean sheets. Thanks for your help Granny! She also had plenty of time to play with the kids! God bless her....she watched Lion King several times with Jacob. That has been his activity of choice during his illness the last few days. He will play with his toys for a while and then say, "Hey Mommy, how bout Lion King." He curled up on the couch with his blankets and rested while causing mommy to sing the songs from the movie all day long! One day I will get them out of my head. We are hoping to be healthy next week and back to our normal routine.

Next, I want to share just how good God is! This morning before Granny headed home and we went to the doctor, I was getting ready to go. Hannah was playing underneath my feet as usual and Jacob was in Hannah's room playing with her toys. Then..I heard a sound that a mother NEVER wants to hear...CRASH! (things breaking and more importantly Jacob crying. I ran in there to find Jacob underneath Hannah's DRESSER. Yes, my strong little boy some how knocked over the dresser with five drawers and other things all over the room. We are so grateful to God that he was not seriously hurt. I have heard of terrible stories where children have died when furniture fell. He did not even have a scrape or bruise. No other explanation except that God has a wonderful plan for his life and protected him. Praise God. Enjoy the pictures from this week.

If you saw mommy's baby pictures, you would know I was hers

What mom? Can I not climb on the fireplace?

I may be sick mom, but I am still happy!

Granny has a lap full!

What mom? I just needed a wipe? (definitely a look inherited from her mother)

Amazed

I just got finished watching my kids sleep. I love doing that sometimes, because they are so peaceful. As I watch them, I am amazed at how God gave his only Son to die for my sins. I cannot imagine sacrificing either one of my precious gifts from God. I am so thankful that He loved us so much that He gave the ultimate gift. I also feel incredibly blessed that He trusted Matt and I to raise Jacob and Hannah. I pray that we will do our best and that with God's guidance, we will help our children to know His love. My heart overflows with joy at the gift of children. I remember being pregnant with Hannah wondering how I was going to love her as much as I loved Jacob, but it instantly happened. I would lay my life down for both of them. They are my heart!

Jacob is really beginning to use his imagination and I love it when he comes up and says, "Mommy, I have idea." He has in his mind what he wants to do. Normally it involves playing with a certain toy, or having a treat (like pudding or yogurt). My favorite thing he says right now is "how bout this." A few days ago he said, "I know mommy, how bout ice cream!"
He is so sweet with his sister. When she wakes up, he now says, "Hi Hannah! Good mornin." He gives her plenty of hugs and kisses." He showed us how big his muscles were last week by carrying her into his room from our den. Matt was in Jacob's room and I was in the back of the house. Thankfully he got her in their safely and said, "Look Daddy I have muscles, I carry Hannah!"

Sweet Hannah has been sick this week, which I hate, but she is so cuddly which is nice sometimes. She likes to snuggle with mommy. She has let me just rock her with her head on my shoulder and I would not trade that for anything. Even when there are a million things I could be doing, I would not want to miss out on a moment with her wanting to snuggle.

Catching Up!

Well, I obviously have a lot of catching up to do! I am sorry that it has been so long, but what can I say, life happened! We have been busy and I just haven't found time to sit down to blog. Once the kids are in bed, I am too! We had a wonderful holiday with both sides of our family. I will be sharing plenty of pictures. We were with the Trollinger side on Christmas day and the Cole side after Christmas. The kids had a great time, especially Jacob!
Well, Jacob is more verbal everyday. He is repeating everything we say, which can be scary sometimes! A simple "Oh my gosh" by mommy has been a battle of trying to get him to stop saying it! He speaks very clearly the majority of the time. He is in Mother's Day Out two days a week and he loves his teachers and friends. He comes home talking about his day and who he played with. Ms. Hannah is 10 months old! It is hard to believe that she is quickly approaching the year old mile stone! She is crawling through the house like crazy and walking around furniture. She has not been brave enough to let go and walk on her own yet, but we don't think it will be too much longer before she does. She has two bottom teeth and her top two are starting to break through. They are both such a joy! Matt and I feel so blessed to have these two gifts from God to raise. Our prayer is that we continue to ask for God's guidance and raise them they way He would have us to. Hannah has been a little under the weather this week running 103 degree temp for two nights, so needless to say, mom is sleep deprived, dad is trying to help out, but Hannah is a momma's girl, and Jacob is mad that he hasn't had much one on one time with mom this week without Hannah on her hip or in her lap. We hope things get back to normal next week and that Jacob doesn't catch the virus. Okay, I guess enough with the novel. I will share the pictures since that is what you want to see anyway!

The Children's Museum

My friend Jennifer and I took Jacob, Hannah, and her daughter Bailey to the Houston Children's Museum last Friday. Here are a few pictures from the day. Bailey and Jacob had fun exploring and Hannah had fun taking off her shoes and socks!

New Pictures

Well I have pictures of our kids and our precious nephew to share. We are all doing well. We are getting excited about Christmas. Now if I just had time to go Christmas shopping we would be in good shape!
